As one of the most iconic franchises in the NFL, the Oakland Raiders have one of the strongest fan bases in the league. With fanatical black and white covered fans, Oakland Raiders tickets have delivered plenty of thrills over the years.

Oakland Raiders Tickets: Franchise Overview

The Oakland Raiders were an original AFL franchise in 1960. After producing just one winning campaign from 1960-64, the Raiders began their ascent to victory.

Over the next two decades, the franchise became one of the most successful teams in pro football. From 1965-85, the Raiders had just one losing season. During the run, Oakland made 15 postseason appearances.

In a controversial move, owner Al Davis moved the franchise to Los Angeles in 1982. In Southern California, Davis tried to get a new stadium for his club while the Raiders played at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. After failing to get a new stadium, Davis returned the Raiders to Oakland in 1995.  Since the return to Northern California, Oakland has garnered only three winning seasons.

Davis, head coach John Madden, wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff, offensive lineman Jim Otto and defensive lineman Howie Long are among the Hall of Famers that have been a part of the Raiders organization.

Championship Seasons

Oakland made its first Super Bowl appearance in 1967. The AFL champions were overwhelmed by the Green Bay Packers. After several close calls, the Raiders returned to the Super Bowl in 1976. This time, Oakland came out on top with a victory over the Minnesota Vikings. Four years later, the Raiders won Super Bowl XV.

In Super Bowl XVIII, the Los Angeles Raiders rolled to a 38-9 rout of the Washington Redskins.

Oakland lost its most recent Super Bowl appearance in 2002 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Home Stadium

Since 1966, the Raiders home in Oakland has been the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum (capacity of 63,026). When the Raiders returned to Oakland in 1995, the stadium underwent some major renovations. Oakland Raiders tickets enable fans to watch the action in one of the NFL's most unique environments.
